We provide strategic, hourly counseling support to self-directed students and their families who want to manage their admissions process independently.

We can help with:

  • Admissions Planning (college choices, college list building, college visits, test planning, high school course selection, networking with colleges, college majors/careers, activities, summer plans, resume development, application deadlines strategies, application timeline, college decisions)
  • College Applications (how to fill out applications, applications and writing essay support, interview prep)
  • College Affordability (how to pay for college, financial aid, scholarships, and cost of college)

Step 1: Free Introductory Meeting

To start, we offer a Free 15- to 20-minute Meet-N-Greet Meeting with a Best U counselor who has availability and matches your admission needs and the services you desire. During this meeting, you will learn more about our services and how we can support your college admissions and/or college affordability needs.

Step 2: Client Meetings

After the Introductory Meeting, you will dive into full counseling meetings with one of our knowledgeable Best U counselors. During our counseling meetings, we will tailor the discussion to the student’s admissions or the family’s college affordability needs.

Students dictate the frequency of meetings as well as how they would like to utilize our services. Meetings are task-oriented and are focused on the important pieces of the admissions or college-affordability process. We are not able to provide accountability support to students.

Pricing

The Best U offers a variety of hourly services and punch cards to help guide students and families through key pieces of the college admissions process, so families can participate in meetings at their own pace. You can find out rates within the descriptions by grade level and services.

Outside Of The Scope Of The Best U’s Work

The Best U does not provide support for the following services, but we can refer students to experts…

  • Test prep and academic tutoring
  • Essay writing support
  • More in-depth/comprehensive college major/career advising, athletic recruitment, visual and performing arts portfolios/auditions/talent development, college financing based on very specific individual income choices, etc.
